Make a Move for Math, our special fundraising event, exceeded expectations Feb. 27. More than 150 donors raised $53,450 for Explorations in Math while dining on fine food and wine. Featured speaker Dr. John Medina talked about the brain and math, and we debuted our MathFest video.

MathFest 2009 was our best MathFest ever. With more than 800 students, teachers, parents, volunteers, and community members "playing math" Nov. 12 at the Rainier Community Center, MathFest 2009 showed how kids can build their confidence in and ethusiasm for math - and
have a great time doing it!

What was your best MathFest moment? Here's how to share it:

Explorations in Math has been an important partner with us as we build a math culture in our school. With the Exploring Math Programs, Math Summer Camps and the Mathematician in Residence program we are able to reach kids in different ways, to pique their interest and build concepts and skills in mathematics. At the same time the adults are learning and growing along with them. The real benefit however has been how it has changed many of the kids' attitudes and approach to math. It was really fun.
